I genuinely wish that this had been a bit longer. I loved Janneth and Morgana, but I feel like the length of the book really prevented us from seeing their relationship move along and develop. I would have loved to have seen that tailed along a bit. Also, with regards to the conflict (centering around the beef between the faerie courts) had the potential to be so interesting, but again we only got a glimpse. I know this is part of a series and maybe it's explored more in other books but I felt it could have really been beneficial here to add a little layer of suspense instead of a little sprinkle.

Janneth was a great character, knowing fully what age wanted from life and fully embraced her desires and hopes for the future. I did feel so sorry for her at a certain point as there is a huge betrayal going down.

Morgana was very much the softened ice queen and fit the bill 100% Absolutely savage, but is also showing a little vulnerability around our MC.

I really appreciated that we managed to get a decent look at the world we were in without having to read through extensive world building. Which I enjoy, but not if I'm looking for a nice easy fantasy romance to chill for a day with. The descriptions were great, loved the language used, and I really loved the "glassed" concept. Again, something I would have loved to have been expanded on in a full length novel. And the inclusion of it being set in Scotland and references to Celtic mythology was 😘👌 Always a bonus for me.

The pacing felt a little strange for me as parts flowed nicely then other parts would begin and end really abruptly. Again, the potential downside of a shorter novel (175 pages or thereabouts).

This would be perfect for someone looking for a spicy Sapphic fantasy without having to go through a ton of world building.
