A triumphant first in the series, The Golden Daughter offers prose both stark and dazzling. This brutal, lyrical tale doesn't shy away from the horrors that can be uncovered in a fantasy world. Wonder and magic lie ahead as well. The female characters are driven, complex, and engaging. The line between hero and villain often blurs deliciously. Suspenseful and enjoyable, prepare for surprises and excitement in this fast, fun read. 5/5 very much recommended!
