Imagining a couple bed scene inside your head while trying to figure out where the heck you are at that 16th floor, you Mr. Narrator is such a bizarre.

I like the part with "I" talking to Yuki, riding that Subaru at midnight with her. "I don't go dutch on dates," he said. Yuki is such a phenomenon, a mysterious character, a pretty child. I really love her a lot. I personally love all "I" conversations with Yuki, the telephone call especially-- "Cross my heart and hope to die you can ask the cabbage moth you can ask the alfalfa stuff there's not a human alive who keeps promises better than me." It was fun, and weird but that's my favorite.

I somehow dislike Dolphin Hotel, the old or the new-- both. It's odd and strange, I keep on thinking and contemplating in between reality and dream. The Sheep Man, it existence. Those-- I have been waiting for you-- it keeps bothering me.

I think a lot about the story. From the dream, Kipper, Kiki, Dolphin Hotel, Yumiyoshi, the 16th floor, connection between Yumiyoshi and "I", Gotanda, all that Yuki and "I" journeys, how he always not the main character in everything, and Mr. Sheep Man -- i don't think it exists, not as a living being. I probably have my own Sheep Man too. My conscience,. My inner thought. My instinct. My dream. Maybe. MAYBE.

Surreal stuff, making you keep on thinking. Reality or dream. That loneliness, and not being the one that you expect yourself to be. Love and relationship. I somehow love how it goes. I appreciate the ending-- though might not the exact ending i was hoping to be, but i guess that would do.

Cuck-koo!

first time reading murakami and it did not disappoint. an excellent story about the difficulty of moving on and the ways we may go about processing loss through the use of others. told through the eyes of a severely flawed narrator who moralizes in extremely inconsistent ways

You have to dance with whatever life presents you. In other words, whatever happens to you in life, find a way to keep moving forward.

jpeux compter sur Murakami pour écrire à propos d'un espace liminal humide, moisi et froid pendant 580 pages pis en meme temps complètement ruiner son livre en 20 pages finales nul à chier.
