Wow. This book is so action packed my jaw was on the floor a majority of the time. Probably one of the best SJM books and I am very excited for the next book

I need some time to process this. Holy shit. I’ve never read 700 pages so fast in my life. I have so many questions. My heart, in pieces. My brain, on the wall. My soul, well…
5 stars. Can’t wait for the next one. SJM if you fumble this as hard as ACOSF I will never recover.

An amazing plot, with the biggest twist at the end.  Characters are well developed and complex.
It was truly a wild ride.

SJM really knows how to write a third act! I definitely enjoyed the latter section of the book; it’s worth preserving through the slower earlier chapters. Overall it’s a solid fantasy novel with quest and rebellion threads and a lot a spicy scenes (honestly a bit much for me but totally on brand for SJM from what I can tell)

I’ve realllyyyy enjoyed the Crescent City series. The second installment was just as good as the first, I found the character development to be great, as well as the plot. I am not one to try to figure out where the author is leading me, as I really like the element of surprise so I am sure some people might expect the ending in some way but as for me, my jaw was on the floor. I find Sarah’s writing style to be great, the world-building and connection with every. single. character. keeps you coming back for more.
