Homelands was one of the most maligned of sets when I began playing magic in the late '90s. I had a softer view of it when I had a chance to look at all the cards in the encyclopedia and started connecting dots with the flavor text. Who doesn't love a story of ancient evil, with vampires, a tarnished holy order, ancient minotaurs and a nature spirit that looks like your mom?

That last part was just funny, but I did keep a copy of Autumn Willow in my green deck for years.

This comic book doesn't get into all of the characters referenced in the cards, of course, but the art and story are great and suspenseful and fan favorites Baron Sengir and Serra herself appear. This was one of the better of the early comic-books. I sought this one out first and bought the rest of them on ebay years ago, I may have to add them to the database and give them a re-read.
