Love some lesbian smut. This book was really easy to get into. I was immediately immersed in Scarlet and Quin’s relationship. Love an enemies to lovers moment.

I do wish the plot had been drawn back out a bit more. There wasn’t enough world building at times and some scenes happened too quickly.

Overall super enjoyed though:)

Can’t wait to read more of Ruby Roe’s work!

A Game of Hearts and Heists was such a fun, spicy, sapphic fantasy romance. While there were a couple of parts that felt a bit rushed, overall, I loved the plot of this story.

I'll give my critique in the middle and then end with all my praise. I found it slightly difficult to remember Scarlett versus Stirling. They are twins, so I understand the naming convention, but I believe characters who frequently appear together shouldn’t have names that start with the same letter, as it can make them harder to distinguish. Their personalities were different enough, but it took me a while to remember who was who.

I also know a lot of these side characters were introduced for spin-off books, but I do wish some of them were slightly more developed.

That’s all the critique I have. Onto the good! The spice was pretty high, but unlike some spicy books, this had a really interesting plot. I had fun in this fantasy world It had an interesting mix of modern-day elements with an older vibe.

Scarlett and Quinn had really great moments of tension, even in their spicy moments. I really loved Scarlett in the end. Quinn irked me a few times, but that’s pretty normal for these types of books.

I can’t wait to continue this serie. A solid 4 stars!
