This was my first fantasy book and I was so entertained! I couldn’t put the book down and became invested in the characters. I love the theme through the story of playing games. The love story was so cute too! Some spice but nothing too too wild.
happy to say a high 4 star…probably like a 4.7.
a nice wlw fantasy book that had a lot of action and spice. reminded me of fourth wing at different points.
it was a enemies to lovers book but not in a stupid way like many are. the enemy part really made sense and it’s fun to watch them work through their hate for each other.
the reason i docked a little is because at times i found the world-building confusing. could’ve definitely just been me but i wasn’t completely sure what everything meant.
overall happy i read and will be continuing on to the next book in the series.

A most enjoyable, spicy lesbian fantasy adventure, full of intrigue, magic & assassins.
It also has the best scene on haircuts I've ever read - I felt very seen! Next time I try to explain to someone how I feel as I emerge from underneath a mess of long hair, the euphoria of somehow finding my way back to myself again, I am just pointing them to page 93 of this book.
I loved it, I can't wait for the next one in the series!
