this is how i like my arthuriana: beautiful lyrical prose, effortlessly queer/diverse without changing huge things from the source material but just making it richer and more interesting <3 women with swords <33 mentions of my pookies however brief <333

i think the most impressing thing about this novella was how the author's deep and genuine passion for arthurian legend just oozed from the pages. i was so impressed by the writing style in this; it felt so classic and mythical, like i was reading the le morte d'arthur itself, but far queerer. the author clearly understands how to write a myth! and i adored the reinterpretations of the characters, particularly peretur and llanza, and the whole novella intertwined arthurian legend and celtic mythology so cleverly. very impressive!
