I actually can’t believe this book is part of the other two books i read before.. literally 4/5 it was so good really good and so much better than the first two!! so much better than what i expected. Kitt was greatly written the way he turned to be exactly what he always feared was amazing, he reminded me of anakin (star wars) and i was here for it. Kai and pae were so mature in this book than the first two and it really feels like they’ve grown so much! Kai is such a gentleman here unlike the previous books and i really love how they’re not childish anymore because i hated their fights so much before. but this book? amazing seriously everything about it and the last 100 pages were so overwhelming my head was hurting actually i was so confused by everything.. mak my beloved): you always be loved by me. and adena

I don’t know how I feel about this book honestly. From one point on I found it super weird and I did not enjoy the last chapters at all.

Literally, WTF did I just read?

I was actually having a pretty good time with Fearless at first. The opening half was engaging, the romance still had that spark, and I thought Lauren Roberts might stick the landing. But then the last 15% happened… and it felt like the story just unraveled.

Instead of a finale that tied things together, we got rushed pacing, info dumps, and a mess of poorly timed twists that seemed more for shock value than actual payoff. Characters suddenly acted in ways that didn’t align with their entire arcs, and Kitt in particular suffered what felt like complete character assassination. Add in brand-new questions for a final book, and the whole thing left me more frustrated than emotional.

And then there’s the time jump; five years later and add in a trope I usually dock stars for anyway. That should have been the epilogue, but instead the “real” epilogue gave me zero satisfaction. Why center it on someone I couldn’t even feel sympathy for at that point? And what they did to my boy? Unforgivable.

The ending technically landed where I hoped it would, but the execution was so messy it soured the impact.

This book had me rolling my eyes so much. The dialogue is just so cringey, especially the inner monologues. Lauren Roberts loves to use adjectives excessively and once you open your eyes to this its very hard to not notice it in every sentence. Regardless, the story was not my favourite. I pictured it going so many different ways and she chose all the worst ways in my opinion. I hate that the fmc had to go through trials again to prove herself to crappy people. The ending for Kitt sucked. All around I just didn't understand why she chose these storylines. It had so much promise but she just took so much from other books and crammed them all into this story.
It is a YA series and I think new readers to fantasy or young readers would enjoy the books, its just not for me. 2.5 ⭐
