I had a wonderful time reading this book. I think it was a good sequel -- I think it carried on the overall storyline and plot while still being its own book.

I adored the characters. It was nice seeing more of Blythe, and Signa was good. I liked Death, and I had a good time reading about Fate. I liked the relationships -- Signa and Blythe, Signa and Death, and Blythe and Fate. I loved the the snark and bantering between Blythe and Fate.  The writing was good, and the pacing varied a little, but I enjoyed it overall.

I lovedddd this book and thought it was a great sequel to Belladonna and in my personal opinion, even better than the first book 🤭 I enjoyed the murder mystery aspect and how several theories as the story progressed and the ones I got right have me very excited for the next installment of the series bc I cannot wait to see what the author has in store for the characters especially
Blythe and Fate
!! Wisteria is gonna be a new anticipated read this year and August needs to come ASAP!

While I could guess where the story was going to end I very much enjoyed the journey there. I can’t wait to learn more about Life Death and Fate and how Signa fits in with all of that. Blythe gets some POVs too and I enjoyed them

I would give this 10 stars if I could! Big loves. I didn’t think this would be better than the first book, Belladonna, but it absolutely positively was!! 10/10

Gothic gothic gothic. I’m in my Gothic Era.

This series ties together so nicely and I can’t wait for book 3.

Book three appears to be told from Blythe’s perspective and I’m not even mad about the switching perspectives, because this story is about Fate.

Book 2 follows an easy pace, nothing too intense to keep the reader turning pages into the night, but at the same time, the STORY is unique and enjoyable. Like in book one, the personification of Death and Fate are so enjoyable and well done.

The murder mystery is also very subtle yet satisfying.

I don’t know why, but it never fails to fascinate me to read about the desperation of “debuting” into society, and the crazy expectations on women and the view of women during this period of time (and the scandal of unwed pregnant women or even just the scandal of the risk to a WOMAN’S reputation if left unchaperoned with a man). I love how the author reminds readers that women were viewed as possessions and did not have rights. It makes the story authentic and empowering while reflecting on the continued gender gap in today’s society.

SPOILER ALERT: (kinda, not really)

At the end of the book, there is a discussion of what to name a baby in the womb. Even though it’s so common to use “they” and “them” for gender neutral (heck, it was screeched at me in high school and college how informal and wrong it was, no matter how common it was for students to say), I am honestly really surprised how confusing and jarring it is when I see it in novels. I seriously thought the author was alluding to the fact that there were actually twins in the womb. So, it’s just a small editing thing, I think “back in the day” parents-to-be probably just defaulted to calling the baby The Supreme He, which is a tiny complaint to the fidelity of the times.

I feel like this was a solid follow-up but could have been condensed into a novella to bridge between the first and third book. A little unnecessarily complicated which I found frustrating and to detract from the story itself.

I can't explain how much I love this book serious and I really hope more are written. This was such an amazingly immersive book that had me unable to put the book down. I can't recommend it enough the love story and passion in addition to the mysteries and plot twists were incredible
