A short and sweet novella about a young romance blossoming after finding a mysterious underwater house. This story was more magical realism than horror for me, and although there was some eeriness and creepiness I thought it was on the tamer side of scary. I liked the romance but I could've done without
Spoilerthe overly descriptive underwater sex scene...
. Not too sure how I feel about the ending but overall I enjoyed it.

I sure wouldn't put this in the "horror" category. I would say that it is more of a YA Thriller. Two teens (a boy and a girl) discover a house at the bottom of a hidden lake. They free dive to see what is in the house, then come back with the proper equipment to look further. What do they find? What finds them? That is where the "thriller" comes in!

Many thanks to Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for this advanced readers copy.

The premise of this book was so fascinating, and honestly about 80-85% of this book is really good and will keep you on the edge of your seat...

...but then you read the ending and realize that you just wasted your time on, well, whatever that was.

Again, I thought it was written quite well, and I'll definitely be checking out the other books by the author, but this one's ending was so bad and confusing that I can't excuse it.

Not really where I was expecting the story to go. I thought it was going to be a more horror but it was creepy, I did like the vibes at times, just a lot of unknown. But it definitely focused more on the romance aspect which I wasn’t expecting but I didn’t hate. I also really liked his writing, just a little underwhelmed because I went into this thinking horror and that’s not so much of what I got.
