I love John Allison's work with an unholy passion. The characters are riveting and charming and witty (yes, even these much-younger kids that he's focusing on now with Bad Machinery - they're awesome!) and I wish they were around me all day every day. Reading this, and his whole back catalogue will only make you happier and smarter. I promise.
Unlike the first book, The Case of the Team Spirit, I had no problems getting into the story or style of the second Bad Machinery volume. Very British, very funny, a bit dark and with great characters. John Allison continues to be in the upper echelons of comic book writery.

I read this story in web comic version over the summer of 2010. Love this strip for its clever banter, 'vaguely supernatural' plot lines, and Allison's ability to feature teens that aren't insufferable (or if they are, it's highly amusing). This particular story has all of that.
Scary Go Round was once a regular part of my morning web-comic routine, but I really look forward to Bad Machinery each day.

John Allison is somehow a genius at both art and story in every installment of his comic Bad Machinery, and this second volume is no exception. If everyone would read this book (as well as every volume of Bad Machinery), the world would be a better place.
I had previously read this story online, of course, as I am a huge fan of Bad Machinery. That was a few years ago, probably. Then I bought this book and read it all over again in one sitting.
MAN do I love this comic. I love the art, I love the characters, I love what they say. I laughed out loud many times. I love Archibald. And Amy, and Ryan. I just really adore this comic more than any other comic ever.
Like the previous book, this is, physically speaking, bee-yoo-tee-full. The colors are bright and crisp, the pages are BIG and shiny and I love to run my hands over it. Just a lovely, lovely thing.
