It's very difficult to get past the bias of this book. If you believe, as so many do, that the Civil War was fought over slavery then you may enjoy it. However, if you've done any research past high school history there's a decent chance this book will annoy you. It's unfortunate though because this could have been a really great book if the author would have focused more on the battle itself rather then building the cemetery and being preachy.

I thought this was great. I don't think I paid very much attention in history class because I learned a lot from this short 80 page book! A great addition to any history classroom library.

New perspective/mode for learning about Gettysburg! I especially liked the reading the Gettysburg address with the pictures. Glad I read it, and I think I want to get it for my classroom.

An acceptable graphic look at Gettysburg & the Gettysburg address. I just don't think it added much to the conversation. I think the illustrations could have done much more to support the text.

Brief, visual introduction to the Battle of Gettysburg and the creation of the memorial built on the battle site. Just enough information about Gettysburg to whet your appetite. It also includes Lincoln's Gettysburg address, accompanied by some nice images that carry Lincoln's vision of a united America into modern times.
