Beautiful novel, but took me a long ass time to read. Not my usual pick of thriller/mystery, but the story is engaging and bonus points for LGBTQ romance.

A tragically beautiful story about a world that too often would rather see us in pain than be as we are. I felt every part of Ijeoma's despair, and despite such different circumstances I joined in every part of her suffering. There are so many stories like these that deserve to be told. They must be told, or nothing will ever change.

This book is beautifully written and really important, I’m so glad I read it. It was a bit of a struggle at times, due to tough subject matter and maybe it’s pacing, but I would certainly recommend it.
