This book took me a very long time to get through. I lost interest about halfway through it, even though the book is well written, cute, sweet and has some loveable characters in it.

Perhaps the internal drama is a bit drawn out, but overall it is a cute book - just not a favourite. Perhaps some of the characters and the storyline itself is a bit too cute.

I will be giving Tessa Dare another try, however.

I'm actually a little offended at how low the rating is for this book because I thought it was perfect??? a man with real emotions (fear! longing! loneliness!) and a woman who, for her time, defied status and gender roles! the romance was swoony and though perhaps a little instant, they complimented each other so well you couldn't possibly care. and I really loved the Spinde Cove community as well a the absolutely rom-com nature of it all. if the next book is even better, then i can't wait!

Despite them almost instantly kissing, this book did a great job of the push-pull will they won’t they. I love this world, I love the cast of characters. This was a fun lighthearted romance.

tessa dare has done it again for me. i really loved this book, it was as fun as her other ones. all the characters were really good, i could connect with them and began to really care about them. i love how tessa dare manages to write a proper found-family-esque dynamic between her characters.

i also loved how the relationship between bram and susanna felt like a real partnership with each of them being equal.

2.5 stars - too much alpha male for me, wanted it to be a bit more smart romance than it was.
