Lessons of Flexibility
Overall this was a good read. Kinda of slow to take off and then times when the story lagged with the main character decision making. Great insight to burnout and being too rigid with scheduling.

4.5/5 stars.
Life, Unscheduled is a quick and light read that tells of Nicole, a single woman working for a demanding tech company, and how she manages her life. She plans out every detail of her life months out, down to the minute. While this has worked for her, with so many obligations coming up - a potential promotion at work, being maid of honor at her best friends wedding, and maybe finding time for love? - she quickly realizes that scheduling her life is sacrificing her mental health and something needs to change.
I really enjoyed the story and the characters. I could relate a lot to the main character which made her even more likable. Although there is a romance element to this book, it’s not the main focus - the main focus is Nicole bettering herself and her mental health. Life, Unscheduled has a lot of good lessons. I enjoyed the author’s writing style and will definitely be checking out more of her books.

Very good book. Quick read, however it took a couple of chapters to get into but after that I didn't want to put it down. I like that the topic of panic attacks was discussed, as it is a fairly common thing for people to go through however people often don't know what they're experiencing. A lot of the time I found Nicole to be infuriating with her decisions and rationale behind them, however I sympathised and can see why she did what she did. I also liked that even though she struggled to keep a work-life balance, when it came down to it she was always there for her best friend and wanted what was best for her. Additionally I am glad relationship between Nicole and Brandon worked out in the end, and that she quit her job as it was a nice, satisfying ending to the book. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book.

Although I enjoyed the women in STEM career aspect, the book was just okay. I found myself highly frustrated at what Nicole was going through at work and wanting to scream at her multiple times. It was an easy read that kept my interest throughout but I just felt overall it was lacking.

I received this book through a Goodreads Giveaway. It took me a little bit to get into this book, but once I finally did, I was engrossed and couldn't put it down. As a woman in a competitive field, I really related to Nicole and completely understood her motivation to stay with her company while rooting for her to leave. Places like Virtuality do exist, but places that pay well, value their employees, and have cultures that promote work/life balance also exist. I also appreciated the Parisa side story and the parallels between her and Nicole's stories. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and will read more by this author.
Not going to lie, I couldn't stand Nicole. This book gave me so much anxiety, however, I think it highlights a perfect picture of addiction and the necessity to live your life for you.
Honestly the main character was VERY annoying. Constantly pushing Brandon away and being so invested in her job. I understand this might be reasonable for some but it was frustrating to read. The ending was good but predictable.
