The ending of this moved this from a 3.5 to a 4. Enchanting world and really interesting overall plotline, but somewhat diminished by the fact that it's a young adult novel. Teenage girl with special powers even she doesn't know about, she must save the world while also falling in love.

This is a good book, but the plot and character wise, it's already done so many times.

SPOILERS?? This book was amazing! I love the characters so much, Elisabeth, Nathaniel and Silas <3 The ending was amazing, and left me on a cliffhanger ,is Silas returning? Placed a hold for the 2nd book at my library, can’t wait for it to arrive. This book is a fantasy novel with sorcerers, magic, demons, magic books and likeable characters, I’d recommend it to anyone who is a fan of classic fantasy books, with sorcerers and magic. I loved this book so much <3

I genuinely though I already wrote a review but I didn’t… so here it is. This book is amazing. I’m bad at writing reviews so I can’t express how much I loved this book. As a person that found joy in books every since she was little, I felt relatable to Elizabeth. The plot, the characters, and the book itself are all beautiful

Pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this. I really enjoyed the characters, thought they were interesting and comepelling. Elisabeth has the perfect balance fo naivete and badassery. Nathaniel was snarkiness personified and I loved him (also points for him being bisexual 🩷💜💙 yes thank you). Silas!!!!!!!! How can I be so in love with such a quiet quiet demon. I also loved the dynamics between the three characters a lot. My only complaint is that I wish Nathaniel and Elisabeth had more interactions in the earlier middle third. Them together was 🤌🤌🤌.

The ending 😭😭😭
