I was so excited for the return of Ladybug, my favorite character of Isaka's. This book was everything I hoped from an Assassin book. Quick paced, full of twists, turns, and full of rememberable characters.

Middle of the road murderous read.
I've read all of Kotaro Isaka's books that have published in English so far, and this is another quick, fun read. I appreciate that some of the quirky assassins in the cast are women with bigger roles this time, and that gender doesn't really matter when it comes to how twisted one of the groups of assassins are. I was surprised to see ChatGPT mentioned as part of an antagonist's plan, but I guess it was big enough of a issue even in 2023 to be used as a plot point. The only part I really disliked is how much Ladybug mentions his bad luck, because at a certain point it becomes repetitive.

A whole bunch of assassins in a hotel. I had absolutely no idea who, what, when, where … why? Just completely lost. I think this is one that would improve with successive readings. But will I read it again? Probably not.
