This was a good book. I liked the mystery and the twist and turns. There were a couple of moments that I felt kind of dragged out and I am still curious to how much Youngblood actually knew of the situation. I was surprised by the last little twist at the end. I did enjoy the main characters and the multiple viewpoints.

Looking for Smoke is a powerful read from debut author K.A. Cobell. The story highlights the lack of coverage and negligence of missing and murdered Indigenous women at a Blackfeet Reservation when one girl goes missing and a few months later, another girl is found murdered. Four classmates (three who were former friends) are labeled as suspects and must work together to clear their names. Over the course of figuring out what happened to the murdered and missing girls, Mara, Loren, Brody, and Eli weave through the loss and betrayal of the investigation's impact on themselves and their families. Thank you Edelweiss for an ARC.
