I read this book for the high school Battle of the Books. It is a good mystery, written in multiple points of view, and it brings awareness to the Native American population (who still exist). My students liked the book up to a point, but they weren't crazy about the ending. I don't know why because I thought it was perfectly fine.

This was a good mystery but I think the author wrote this more to bring awareness to missing and murdered indigenous women, so the majority of the book is about how these missing women aren’t seen as a priority. This book also goes into details about other struggles indigenous people face such as substance abuse and high rates of sexual assault. The ending was “exciting” once they caught the person, but I think the authors intention was to not dramatize this very real thing, that happens
