I listened to the audiobook and it was really good. Each character has their own narrator. I’m not sure if it was deliberate, but Eli’s narrator had a bit of a lisp.

The mystery was interesting, but the reveal was sad (what happened, not how it was written). The writing was well done and I enjoyed trying to guess who the murderer was.

I had a feeling Brody did it since he had the least amount of narrative space.

This book was on my TBR for awhile. I finally decided to borrow it from my library and I'm glad I did. I was engaged from start to finish. I never knew who was to blame until the very end.

I didn't want to believe that any of the narrators were guilty. It surprised me that Brody played a part in everything. I feel kind of bad for him because his trauma made him susceptible to Jason's manipulation. That doesn't absolve him of his guilt in any way,  though.

Pretty Good

I love learning about Indigenous people, so I was really excited about this book. The emphasis on the high rate of missing and murdered Indigenous women was heartbreaking, but so informative. Reading about their life on the reservation was really interesting to me. I was surprised by how mean they were to Mara because she wasn’t raised on the reservation. At first, the story felt a little slow. It really picked up in the end. I suspected the culprit, but then I started to have my doubts. When the truth came out, I was shocked by the motive. With that information plus the big reveal at the end, I was completely invested in the storyline. This turned out to be a twisty murder mystery with a lot of education thrown in.
