I knew it was coming and thought I'd be ok with reading it, but I was sooo wrong from the dedication to the final page that said the end I was one emotional mess. Michelle absolutely nailed it with saving this as the best for last. I loved everything about this book as it's Danny and Rykers story. This is a must read just make sure to have tissues on stand by.

Ryker and Danny's story was so emotional, this was the final book in the series and I loved them all. This story gave me a ride like few others, this age gap forbidden romance, brother's best friend was brilliant. Tissues ready, but believe me you don't want to miss it. Epic conclusion and can't wait to see what the author writes next.

I set myself up for disappointment by reading this book without having read any of the prior books in the series. My lack of familiarity and emotional connection with the vast cast of characters in this universe just left me feeling lost and overwhelmed. This isn’t a criticism of the author, just an acknowledgment that I’m responsible for my less than satisfactory reading experience.
With that being said, I did struggle with the writing; the style just didn’t work for me (I’ve read a previous book by this author and I don’t recall having the same issue). And at times, Ryker and Danny came across as a bit cringy as a couple.
The only real saving grace for me was the MMC, Ryker. He was so incredibly devoted to Danny and was her anchor in the middle of the storm. This isn’t to say that I disliked Danny, as she was a brave and loving woman; but for some reason I can’t get over the fact that her bright idea to keep her cancer diagnosis a secret was to pretend to have the flu, but she was so devastated by the diagnosis that she kept sobbing in front of Ryker when he came over to take care of her—who sobs when they have the flu?! I can’t believe that Ryker actually believed her when she denied anything more being wrong, but maybe I’m alone in the fact that the most I do when sick is whimper and moan because in no way have I ever had the energy it takes to sob nonstop.

How do you end a series that has ended up being 18 books in total? Heard does this with the right combination of characters, two lovers, and a mind blowing storyline that leaves a reader questioning life choices.
What if? This whole book is reminder to the reader that what it's will only leave you wondering why not? Ryder and Danny have walked on eggshells around each other ever since they felt the attraction. She is the forbidden older sister to Ryker's best friend, and he is the young pup she would be cradle robbing.
These two embark on an adventure that only Heard can bring out while keeping the reader hoping that love will Conquer all!
Take a bow, a month of sleep, and eat all the wonderful goodies because this Heirs series is perfect Michelle. This series is a must read whether you read all 18 or just the 8 books that make up The Heirs series. Each book is better then the last woth a climatic ending only the most talented author could write.

This is the final book in this series and I'm so sad it's ending. These charaters were amazing.
