Eve and Peabody are on the case of a man forced to wear a suicide vest to work and detonate it to save his wife and child. There is no known motivation for this crime and they must work every angle to figure out who benefits from this random violence. A former relationship of one of the victims slowly reveals the thread that they tug to bring down the entire case and find the bad guys. The secondary plot line is rather small since it has to do with the Oscars for the Icove movie. I did like that Eve admitted that it bothers her that the book keeps getting mentioned to her all the time. At some point in the future that may go away but I don’t see it happening for a while. Another good solid read with all the usual things happening in every book.

Seriously one of the best in the series in my opinion. As we are 47 books into the series, that says a lot about how well done this series is with each new installation. Eve Dallas and Roarke continue to be 2 of my favorite characters ever to appear on the page. Add in all the secondary characters I've come to love just as much, and the books in the series feel like I'm visiting with friends with each new book.

The mystery of who was behind the murders was so well done. I was honestly completely in the dark until Eve figured everything out. I usually have an idea as to who the bad guy actually is earlier in the book, but OMG this one kept me guessing so much, and I absolutely loved it!

The In Death books remain one of my favorite series of books ever and I devour each new release way too fast knowing I have to wait for 6 months for my next fix. Fans of the series will be just as excited to read Leverage in Death as I was and hopefully will love it just as much.

Leverage in Death is another great addition to the In Death series. The story is a great mixture of investigation and Eve and Roarke private lives.
The case is interesting, compelling and does make you question what would you willing to do to save your family. I always like that it's not obvious who the criminal are in the case. It makes me feel smarter as I am figuring it out as  the same time as Eve.
One of my favourite theme in the series is Eve battle with the candy thief. For people who do not know the series Eve hides candy aka chocolate in her office, every time she goes to eat it, its missing. He/she strikes again, giving me one of my favourite moment in the book.
"Not only had the nefarious Candy Thief snatched her chocolate, he/she had taken the time and trouble to replace it with the actual item not the freaking menu.
She had to respect that.
When she caught the son of a bitching bastard - and she would, oh, she would - she'd hang the thief out her window by the heels. Naked.
But she'd do so with respect."
At the present moment the identity of the Candy Thief is unknown, hopefully we find out the soon. It doesn't matter how hard a think about it, I still have no idea who it could be.
My rating for Leverage in Death  is 5 out of 5

As always, a fantastic In Death book. At first, I was only going to rate a 4. The first murder details (all the stock market stuff) bored the crap out of me. Thankfully they moved on from that quickly but still, it was a little on the duller side, as far as stories go.

But, as always, the take down was so crazy and well done, it was awesome. Then the end, so yup, another 5 star book. Enjoyable and awesome to read as always. Look forward to the next.

This is the second In Death book in a row with transphobic throwaway lines. I think a sensitivity reader might help with this.

Holy moly! I have no idea how 47 books in J.D./Nora still comes up with new and heinous crimes but she does. Leverage in Death is another tightly woven, edge-of-your-seat reads you don't see coming.
Following Eve as she disentangles the threads and learning why the villains did what they did really hit me in the gut. The lives they destroyed for that?!
I wished for a touch more Eve/Roarke moments, but that was the only downside to another fabulous In Death book.
