I loved this book way more than I anticipated. I was on the edge of my seat, waiting for the next scene, even though I knew what was coming! This book is filled with action, but it also starts to show how the Hogwarts gang is growing up. I loved seeing Harry struggle with his first crush, and I really enjoyed seeing everyone's excitement and apprehension about the Yule Ball. Harry might be trying to save the wizarding world from an evil force, but he is still just a kid. This book definitely felt so much darker than the rest of the series, because it highlights the unforgivable curses. We have heard about wizards that have been murdered by Voldemort and his following, but this is the first time we actually see it happen. I was devastated by Cedric's death and heartbroken for the things I know are coming.
I did really enjoy the premise of the Tri-Wizard tournament. I think it was a fun break from the normal school year and allowed us readers to explore the magical system in a new and competitive way.
I cannot wait to continue the series!
