I loved it. It was like watching the show. Getting into new adventures with this set of characters was just what i needed right now

I did enjoy this, but I went into it expecting it to be as good as the series, without appreciating the completely different medium it's told in (I prefer the experience of watching animation to reading graphic novels). There were a couple things that irked me a tad. Firstly, Katara and Aang (can't say I really ship them anyway) with all the "sweety"s bugged me, tho I'm glad Sokka commented on it - I just feel like they're so young and calling each other "sweety" just felt a bit odd.
Secondly, the whole plot around "the promise" Aang made to Zuko really frustrated me; throughout the tv series Aang is very pacifistic and he wouldn't even kill Firelord Ozai, yet he was prepared to do that for Zuko, who was trying to be good? I just didn't buy it.
Anyhow, this was quite enjoyable overall, but I can't see myself reading any more of the graphic novels, simply as they're rather expensive and I'm not all that invested (I'll just have to rewatch atla!)

for a kids story, this tackles the problems and nuances of colonialism really well!

More Avatar is always good, but the book has some issues and didnt totally hit the mark for me. 3.5. I suspect I’ll like some of the next ones more.
Iroh inventing boba before its time was excellent though.

This book is heavy. Sometimes the scenes ended really abruptly and the notes at the side are fun but when reading I really hate those because they pull me out of the story
