Nite Fire: Flash Point by C.L. Schneider is the first book in the Nite Fire series. This follows the story of Dahlia Nite who has escaped execution by coming to Earth. She is a shapeshifting assassin who is redeeming herself on Earth by trying to protect the people from what lives in the shadows. This is a page-turner and kept me on the edge of my seat. The writing is well done and the characters are developed and interesting. I did not want to like Dahlia at first but could not help liking her as she was trying to help the people of Earth. This is a supernatural thriller and did not disappoint. Dahlia is not only a shapeshifter but part dragon and human. The human world and city are painted expertly then an added depth is added when we get a look at what is in the shadows. If you enjoy a good mystery I recommend this book especially if you like a supernatural twist to a story. I look forward to the next book in the series.

I simply loved this gripping book, and how the book takes off and how it soars basically from there, I was very impressed, and consumed into the story line, it was a great start to a series for me, I will be for sure reading the next installments. The author knew how to write a very much captivating novel!

Dahlia was such an awesome and strong character She was not a force to be reckoned with I loved how she was a from two different more less creatures of this Earth. She lived her life thinking one thing, then to her surprise not everything was what it seemed, I could even feel her shock and the feelings associated with it. I connected to her so easily, I felt I was right there with her even though the very much action scenes! She was strong as said, she faced many things, is the true danger out there in the world and the creatures she faces or is the battle of belonging the one creature she will need all her wit against?

The story was full of action, and suspense that kept on going, which I loved. It was never really a dull moment when reading this book. it kept me hooked and on the edge wanting to know more and what the next events would lead to. Things happened drastically, but I will say when I came to the end, I know more questions will develop in the next novel, and I can not wait to get my hands on it and read it!

Wonderful suspenseful writing. The author is very talented to say for sure, and wrote a very gripping amazing novel. I simply loved it and it was the perfect blend of fantasy and suspense. I could not get enough of this book and Dahlia! High recommendation, this is not one to be missed!

Wow! This is my first book by this author and I loved it! If I could give it ten stars I would! She really knows how to build a world that makes you see every stunning detail in your mind’s eye. This story is told in first person POV but the intricacies of every character are well fleshed out. I read this book not once but twice, back to back because I wanted to absorb absolutely every single detail. Dahlia Nite is such a strong character and brings not only her world, but our world to life in a way not only leaves you wanting more but leaves you wanting to read it again just to take it all in. Full of fantasy, fun, wit, violence and intrigue you won’t regret giving yourself over to this urban fantasy tale!

If you like shifters, mystery’s and good books that will have you hooked from the beginning, then this is the book for you. Dalia Nite is a shifter who has to leave her world behind due to being wanted for execution. She goes to the human world for her own safety and helps keep them safe from things that are lurking in the shadows so to speak. When a string of mystery murders come up she has to solve them and fast. Can she do it before more people die? I love her character the absolute best, I know she’s the main character and I’m supposed to but I really did just absolutely love her. She’s so strong, she’s fierce, and I loved that she met every problem head on! I would highly recommend this book.

“We all have ghosts. Not the floating specters that rise from lonely gravestones on a moonlit night. Not the mischievous spirits that rattle chains or stomp their invisible feet across attic floors. Sparked by emotion, bred by trauma, these shadowy phantoms attach with sticky grips and a heavy weight, and they’re damn hard to shake. Dragging on every step, cleaving to souls like a stubborn wad of gum; they cling, embrace, pollute.”

What I liked most about this story is that the shapeshifters were dragons. Most of the time shapeshifters are werewolves in stories. I also appreciated the strong female lead. Although this is a fantasy novel I felt like there was a lot of mystery and a bit of thriller in here too. Kept me interested the entire time. I think what I enjoyed most about this book is that it didn’t have that bubbly romantic feel to it like a lot of fantasy novels have. It was dark and stayed dark throughout the story.

Night Fire By C.L. Schneider

5 Stars!!!!!

I just love books with Dragons. I also love finding new authors to read. I was very much in readers heaven. This book ticked all the boxes for me. It was filled with just enough adventure to really get me hooked from page one.

I quite liked how the author bridged the worlds together and how Dahlia becomes sort of the protector of the humans. I like how the author brings the back story into it and how it all ties the story together from the beginning. It isn't easy being a supernatural creature in the human world and I was very eager to turn the pages to see what would happen. I was also quite glad to see that Dahlia was able to use her abilities to help keep the humans safe. It was also nice to see the author made the character really relatable I really enjoyed all the twists and turns in this story and the back and forth between the worlds. I cannot wait to read more by this author as I love love love dragons.

Dahlia Nite is a woman who moves around a lot ever since she escaped from her home and her execution, all because she paused while carrying out her duty when she was startled by something she couldn't easily explain, so she ran in the middle of the night leaving everything and everyone she knew behind and escaped to the human realm, but her past has caught up with her now she has moved back to Sentinel City and not just when she is reliving her pain and fear in her dreams whenever she goes to sleep. When she uncovers a nest of otherworldly creatures who have been killing the humans in the city she currently calls home, she has no choice but to exterminate them, although it isn’t easy and she has to hide her true form while doing it, she completes her mission, but while working out how the creatures made it there, it is what they say which troubles her more, this and the fact that these particular creatures normally live alone, but here there were five of them, just another thing to add onto her list of strange things happening in Sentinel City.

The next day she is contacted by her contractor saying that there has been a murder, but that it is so unusual in the way it was commited that she is being called in to help and so keep the humans from finding out what truly happened there, but when she arrives at the scene, she is shown in by a police officer who looks like he doubts what he is seeing as she doesn’t look old enough to have experience of dealing with these types of investigations. The brutality of the murders is the first thing she notices and the manner in which they were killed is devastatingly familiar and that is before she has even properly looked at the bodies, but she knows exactly what did this, the thing she needs to find out now is why this family is dead. When she meets the captain of the police force there, she learns that she is being assigned a partner to investigate with, but after she requests to be alone with the scene, she confirms her original suspicions, even though she doesn’t want to. Later on in the day, she goes to a favourite haunt to have a drink and think about what she had found out that day, however, she senses someone nearby who could be involved and gives chase, however, when she gets close to them, they attack and this leads to more bodies like the ones at the house, but she loses sight of the person when they escape out of the back of the building.

Things start to get more complicated after she meets her new partner and that is when she realises that this one is going to become a thorn in her side, especially when the bodies start to pile up and any leads she has are either dead ends or things she can’t explain to the other officers on the team, she knows she is running out of time to figure it all out, but that doesn’t make it any easier on her. Will Dahlia be able to figure out who is killing these people and why while also covering it all up at the same time, or will the cat get out of the bag and reveal everything she has been trying to hide? This action packed urban fantasy will leave you wanting more as you are pulled in all the same directions as Dahlia as you try to figure things out with her.

Flash Point (Nite Fire #1)
By C.L. Schneider
5 stars

This is the first book that I have read by this author and what an introduction! I absolutely loved this story! It kept me on the edge of my seat with all of its twists and turns! It is definitely one of those hard to put down books! The author has written this book in such a way that it is easy to follow and a pure joy to read. The story flowed seamlessly and I loved every minute of it. I loved how she managed to weave murder mystery and supernatural into one story. It really is very well written.
I liked the characters! Straight off I thought Dahlia was awesome! Half human half dragon what’s not to love! She was really entertaining and a very strong female lead! She was determined to keep the human race safe! I could tell that the author really thought about her characters and that shows in the development of them over the story!
I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the next one in the series! I think I have definitely found a new author to love!

Flash Point ( Nite Fire #1) by C.L. Schneider Rated 4 stars

Dahlia Nite is half human and half dragon. She is called a Lyrrken. She left her world after things went wrong and came to Sentinal City. She works undercover to protect the unsuspecting human race. From what? Others like her. They prey on the humans and she hunts them down. Now a murder has taken place with weird burn patterns. She is brought in as a fire investigator. They don't know what she is or what she can do other than help them. She uses her empathic abilities and her dragon senses to try to figure out who did these grisly murders.
Dahlia usually keeps to herself but has contact with at least two others like her. Oren has been working as her handler and Ronan who was her previous lover. There are a slew of other humans that she has contact with over the years. I actually enjoy her friendship with Officer Casey Evans. He seems to be a fun guy. I like the nickname he gave her and what he calls himself. Detective Creed is another story. He is not fond of anyone but I think he actually starts to like Dahlia instead of treating her with disdain. There are a few other interesting characters but they are mysterious and I don't want to ruin the surprise.

Nite Fire was very difficult to understand. It's a new world with new terms and sometimes it takes me a bit to catch with it all. At the beginning I got a little history of Dahlias life before as an Executioner within the Guild in the prologue. Then when her story started,in the now, there were times her empathy was in full force other times she was talking about some black sludge coming towards her and yet others when she was kicking butt. I think the black sludge was pain from a soul but I'm not sure. The story picked up once Casey Evans came on board. Detective Creed kept the story moving too. Even though he was gruff I think he was still a lovable character.

This story did not flow for me I think I got too caught up on what everything means that she was doing or had done. The story line was a good one and the whole new world was great. My favorite character was Officer Evans. I really enjoyed the times he was in the story. It made me want to keep reading to find out what was going to happen with him next. I was excited to read this because dragon shifters are so cool! I liked the color she is and how she can manipulate fire! I'm pretty sure more info would come to light in future books.

Nite Fire: Flash Point is the first book in the two part book Nite Fire by C. L. Schneider. This book is a shifter book which means it has fantasy, mystery, magic, dragons, and of course shifters. This story took me on a wild roller coaster ride. There isn’t a dull moment in the story. The characters are developed and not only are the primary characters awesome in the story so are the secondary. I love how Schneider interwove the “human” world with in the story. Dahlia Nite is a shifter but she is also an assassin. There is an execution warrant out for her and that is how she ends up in the “human” world. It is there were she uses her specialty to help people. Will Dahlia be found? Will she be able to help those around her? Read this story to find out. You may want to have a good amount of time to read because you will want to finish the book in one sitting.
