4/5 This was gross and creepy! This is a re-telling of Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher, which I haven't read yet, so I can't accurately review this book without reading T. Kingfisher's muse. But I did enjoy myself! It was a quick read with interesting elements and plot twists that weren't surprising but still entertaining.

This was almost a dnf. First half of the book was a drag, but second half picked up with a few creepy moments. Ending fell flat for me

My second "creepy fungus" read of this year!
