This was such a magical story! The premise was enough to get me to pick it up and it hooked me right from the start, creative & great characters! I do wish the author had spent a little more time to lengthen the book just a little as the ending felt a little sloppy and convenient, and at times the dialogue was not great. BUT the story was compelling enough that I already want to reread and take it all in again. As this is a debut novel, I'll be looking hopefully for this author's next book!

This was a hard one for me, very slow at the beginning… so slow I almost gave it up, but I hate the idea of that and pushed through… turns into something far more than I expected. A wonderful adventure with many turns, the back 2/3 are great! If you start and get stuck, keep going - it was worth it.
Good writing, nice family story, believably human characters, but standard arc and setting.
