Tbh dark and very messed up but I loved it 😅. However,

While, I didn't see the plot twist  coming I hated it. It just felt unneeded. Like the mystery could be solved without him being alive. Also like what man can pull this all off.

This book is disturbing. Storyline is well thought out, but it's just too graphic to want to read. I only finished it because it was for book club. Please read up on trigger warnings before you read this because I was caught off guard and the entire read was very disturbing to the point that I could not enjoy it at all.

I really enjoyed this book up until the last 1/4. too much FBI/law enforcement/lawyer talk for my personal taste. that being said, it was a wild ass ride from start to finish and kept me hooked the whole time. I read this book with my girlfriend and found myself itching to read when she wasn't able to and wanting to read ahead. beware, this book is pretty graphic and violent for how popular it is, it surprised me.

Absolutely gut wrenching story. Heartbreaking and mysterious that made me have to know what happened next. It’s heavy so take the time to process it and take care of your mental health but for those who love dark gory thrillers, it is perfect.

Very dark, but fast paced. Relatively predictable.

Loved this so much! And hated it too, but for all the right reasons. There were twists and turns in just about every chapter and I never knew what I was going to be surprised with next! I was taken surprise by each revelation, which never happens for me and I never knew who to trust. Only complaint is it was almost too graphic to stomach. If it hadn't been so well written and I didn't care about the characters, I might have stopped. Lots of very graphic torture, violence & death. Be warned. I have a headache and I've had dreams about this book. But it was so good. I'm very confused how I should be feeling haha. My first and probably not my last Karin Slaughter book, but I'll definitely be needing a palette cleaner in between.

I hated everything about this and how scary it was. It definitely felt like the author was going for pure shock factor most of the time. So this was scary and disturbing and worst of all utterly predictable. The setup was slightly confusing enough to where there is an air of mystery until you understand how the characters are associated. Then I - who am usually awful at predicting - could tell where the entire story went. But I thought there is so much of the book left, there’s no way I’m going to be right about this. But no I was they just took a long and loquacious road to get there.
