Drew me in and kept me wanting to read until I finished it. It was incredibly graphic at points, which made some parts difficult to read. Highly, highly recommend checking out content warnings before reading (I did not, and probably should have, though not sure even that would have prepared me for how disturbing some of it is). Still, excellently written, with some twists I saw coming and some that I did not. Makes me interested to read other (maybe less graphic) books by this author.

Wow. Perfectly paced. I was wrapped up in this book for an entire day. I had to finish it. I will say my brain feels icky after reading it, definitely check the trigger warnings.

I’ve never seen marital infidelity be so innocuous. I guess that’s just relative to stalking, rape, torture, murder, and human trafficking. This book is pretty dark. The darkness brought out a very specific and personal darkness in the protagonists, which made them compelling and believable. This is a great read but it is the antithesis of enjoyable or relaxing. I’m glad I read it but I’m also relieved to be done reading it.

Not sure how to rate this book. It is highly disturbing. Made me sick to my stomach. The amount of thought that went in to this makes me wonder if K. Slaughter has had a psych evaluation…. Idk. I couldn’t stop until I knew what was going to happen. But I was so glad when I finished.
