The farther into this book I got, the more I realized I hate Aurora Teagarden. If she's not the most arrogant, self centered jerk, I'm Oprah Winfrey. She's just absolutely unlikable from Page 1 on. I don't remember this from the first book, maybe I blocked it, maybe the author was going through some stuff when she wrote this one but either way... Wow. What a horrendous person Roe turns out to be.

Quick, easy and diverting.
I haven't quite decided what I imagine Aurora Teagarden looks like and I'm wondering...guessing if she may become a private investigator in the next instalment?
I like my fun reads in between other reads and I love a good detective story, even if she isn't really a detective!

The characters still need some oomph. Roe is still boring me. I like the mysteries though. I should have figured out who done it because it made sense in the end.

A light easy read. Aurora manages to get herself into some interesting situations.

What Is in the Blanket Bag?!

I feel like my review for the first book, [b:Real Murders|140091|Real Murders (Aurora Teagarden, #1)|Charlaine Harris|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1307067671l/140091._SX50_.jpg|2047552], could be reiterated here. It was an entertaining listen, and while I enjoyed the tweaks that Hallmark made to the made-for-TV series, the book stands on it's own feet just fine.

I like the twists, misdirection, and constant guessing about whodunit. I also like how we see Roe struggle with the current dynamics of her love life, or lack thereof, and the change in her former beau's status.

I borrowed a library copy of the audio book. The narrator is Therese Plummer who does a good job.

Story: 4 stars
Narration: 3.5 stars

I liked this book and it was a pretty easy read even if the premise was a little far fetched.

I’ve read all of the Aurora Teagarden books, but this is the one I keep coming back to, rereading it time and again. Odd that a murder mystery is my comfort read, but I think it’s partly the whole “inheriting a house and $500,000 from an acquaintance.” I think that’s a dream to most people (but surely they could do without the skull hiding in the window seat and the mystery that needs solving).
