Uma narrativa duríssima sobre uma realidade a que poucos têm acesso, considerando o quanto a Coreia do Norte é um país fechado em si mesmo, e sobre o qual só ouvimos notícias pontuais. Mas se a história de Park é verdadeira, não consigo imaginar a vida em um lugar em que o verbo "amar" só possa ser usado com relação à autoridade máxima do país, que exige ser adorado com se fosse um deus. Há muita coisa chocante neste texto, mas nada me deixou mais angustiada do que a questão da linguagem, do medo da fala, do medo de sussurrar algo errado. Muito assustador.

This autobiography made me weep (and maybe it's because I'm pregnant af right now) but this was a harrowing, important story about the resilience of humans, and Yeonmi Park, in a world where no one should have to experience what these people went through.
