I think it’s really important that everyone read this book. It is so moving and the author is so brave.
To know things like this are happening now - in the 21st century - is hard to comprehend.
What an amazing woman to overcome all she has. A must read for everyone!

Really moving, I like a lot.I really recommend if you're interested in North Korea. What is happening there, how their citizens lives, the reaction of other countries, and so on. You're gonna cry reading these but I think is necessary to know
A true survivor’s story, In Order to Live puts a lot into perspective.
Similar to The Girl with Seven Names in writing style, though every refugee's story is uniquely their own. Yeonmi Park's account of her journey is both matter of fact and emotional. This book provokes nothing but empathy for the North Korean people and the hardships faced for those that 'defect' and those that cannot.

Oh my goodness. Some stories just floor you when you hear the struggles and obstacles that someone had to face and overcome. The courage it took to share the abuse she faced as a North Korean, a refugee, the sexual and emotional abuse related to human trafficking, prejudices against her etc. It broke my heart to learn Yeonmi's experiences, but she still told in such a powerful and optimistic way. There were several times her spirit was broken and defeated, but she endured and found hope time and time again. Now she is a human rights advocate and truly an inspiration to me! Highly recommend this read!
