I enjoyed the honesty and simplicity of the book. It expresses a lot of things that as a woman, a feminist and an obsessive reader of romance novels I experience. I greatly appreciated the fact that she acknowledged the unhealthy view of love romance novels can portray but also explain how vast the genre and sub genres that that mean that there's more than just problematic reading.
Read your romances guilt free because what is more feminist than 'indulging in a desire that brings you pleasure'

Awfully superficial for a biographical essay that (shocker) aims to disprove the thesis statement in the title.

Thoughts: Okay so I picked this book to hate-read it and I ended LOVING IT and relating to it so much. from the title I thought this was gonna be some crazy shit about how romance books are evil and blah blah blah. but it turned out to be so raw and real! the author talked about how romance books changed her perspective on relationships! And I think that the biggest thing people don't see when it comes to romance is that it gives us the ability to see healthy relationships that many of us didn't grow up seeing. but it does it in a way that is not unrealistic. now obviously some romances are unrealistic but some are attainable.
