I don't think I liked the audio version as much as the print version, which I haven't read since 1987. But this book, along with Corrie Ten Boom's, makes you realize how awful humans can be. Corrie's is a little more optimistic though.

It’s wild that the crimes and lack of humanity showed to the Jews are now being shown to the Palestinians by the Jews. How a group of people can go through this and commit atrocities against another group is mind boggling. I’ve always heard ‘Never again’ as a rallying cry of Jewish people, but now silence from so many.

I remember reading this when I saw it on my sister's English class schedule. I had somehow missed it when I was going through school, so I'm really glad that I was able to swing back to it later.

This is a moving and powerful book that remains one of my favorite depictions of the horrors of history. Definitely read this book if you like memoirs and diving into history.
