Police Officer Rachel is assigned the neighbour’s murder case, but she can’t see beyond the missing child (who the parents haven’t reported as missing at all).
Nurse Margot suspects that Anna meant to harm the patient, but will anybody trust her now that she’s disgraced?
The premise of the book is great and it did start out as a page-turning thriller, however by about half way the characters seemed to be jumping from the sublime to the ridiculous, the plot was getting more convoluted and I still didn’t like any of them! Anna’s plucking was off putting and distracting, Rachel was shortsighted and repetitive and Margot was becoming a cliche for her rough upbringing.
All in all, it was a good thriller though, just don’t expect to like any of them by the end!

The book is definitely one of 3 parts, the first third is intensely gripping right from the start and I didn't want to turn it off as I needed to know what was happening. I was completely invested in Anna and Zack and how she was going to untangle herself from this disastrous situation. Unfortunately, the middle third lulled a little bit too much for me as there wasn't a whole lot going on and I did begin to lose interest for a short while. However, fast forward to the last third and we're back to rollercoaster territory with lots of plot twists and some very unexpected curve balls.
The story is told through 3 female characters, Dr Anna Jones, DI Rachel Conaty and Margot, a scrub nurse. Their perspectives alternate and are told by three different female narrators so it was easy to keep up to speed with the varying storyline. It did feel like Rachel and Margot's storylines were a little bit of a filler at times and I probably would have given a higher rating if certain sections were a little bit more condensed.
Overall Do No Harm is a dark, chilling thriller which really made me question what would I do in that scenario. An enjoyable easy listen which kept me entertained during my daily commute.
