This is the second book by Jack Jordan that I've read in the past two weeks, and because Conviction came before this one, for me, Do No Harm fell a little short. Both books place highly trained people in a moral dilemma at the top of their fields, where their decision becomes life or death for those around them, so going into Do No Harm I knew what to expect and what I was getting myself into.

Dr Jones is a heart surgeon tasked to perform surgery on a potential prime minister candidate, when her son goes missing and she's told that to get him back, she needs to murder the MP discreetly on the operating table. What follows is blackmail, extortion, a page-turning mystery, and very well-fleshed-out characters who feel real.

While Do No Harm is an engaging read, it leaves too many of its plotlines open, resulting in many questions for the reader, and it also feels like a read I'll have to scratch my head to remember down the line. Overall, it's a good book, but not as good as Jack Jordon's Conviction.

No specific spoilers, but still spoilers!!!

Really liked the beginning and middle part of the book, a lot was happening, fast paced, lots of drama, but because it started of so strong I expected more of the ending, really not as cruel or sickening as expected. Had a nice plot twist tho. Overall a good read, just  really different than I expected both in the (mostly) positive sense and a little in the negative.

What would it take to get a surgeon to break their Hippocratic oath?

Anna has the misfortune of being put in this exact position when she returns home one evening to find men installing cameras in her house and announcing that they’ve kidnapped her son. All she has to do to make it end is kill the next person to land on her operating table and make it look like an accident…

This was absolutely a 5 star read told from 3 different perspectives - none of which you’re rooting for. Each twist kept me guessing, right up to the very end. It left me with an unsettling feeling, which I think is the intention… I recommend!

This was pants!
When you can't get concerned by a child being kidnapped by crime Lords, it's just not a good sign is it.

While the premise of the book initially intrigued me, the execution fell short of expectations.
As the narrative unfolded, it veered into a direction that seemed disjointed and excessively convoluted.

Despite the variety in perspectives, I found myself unable to connect with any of the characters or feel invested in their outcomes.

While it wasn't a bad read necessarily, it left me underwhelmed.
