for me

This book was going so good but towards the end it dropped off. I found it really interesting and entertaining but at the end it was kind of boring. It just los its momentum. 3.5/5.

Tiktok brought me here lol and I’m happy it did! Great read nothing too intense and not slow at all although there are some parts that I feel could have been more in depth but nothing that takes away from the story as a whole just more on curious why someone acted certain ways that wasn’t really explained but either way really happy with the ending and glade got some answers that I wasn’t sure were going to be answered lol

This took maybe an hour, an hour and a half tops to read. But it’s time I won’t ever get back. Why does Instagram hate me? I imagine if I pulled out my early elementary school and middle school stories I would find a writing style and plot line similar to the one I just read. This is a massive waste of time. There is no depth. No connection. Nothing. It’s just mere words on a paper that lack any substance or feeling that present as a mirage of a story only for the reader to realize they have been bamboozled out of time and energy. Shameful.

nope

DNF 36% FMC was a complete asshole. She was just rude. Your past experience gives you no right to treat someone like crap. It immediately turned me off the whole book

Great Story

This was such a cute and fun read. The storyline and characters are amazing well all except for Cash.
To think this entire story transpired because she decided to read a book during a baseball game she was forced to attend with her best friend. Now knowing the outcome I definitely would have read during the game too.
Highly recommend such a great read.

This sports romance packs quite an emotional punch! Avery is both a sweet and feisty young woman who has zero interest in sports. When her BFF Brodie asks her to go with him to a MLB game she is less than thrilled so she brings a book with her to the game.

Carter Barlowe/Lowe is thrown off kilter when he sees the beautiful brunette completely ignoring his pitching and the baseball game around her. When his agent helps discover her identity, he makes repeated efforts to charm and woo her.

Avery is completely hesitant to give Carter any chance, but he slowly wears her down and gains her affection. As the characters grow closer, Carter shares a closely guarded secret about his childhood. What he has been through and how it later comes back to haunt him is an emotional component I wasn’t expecting, but it definitely adds to the story and defines Carter as an amazing character. Avery was equally surprising, especially how she reacts when things get intense. She may seem sweet, but she has a bada$$ protective streak.

This was a very enjoyable story, and as a baseball fan I enjoyed the baseball setting.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

2.5 stars. A whole lot of telling and not showing and some of the worst communication between characters I’ve ever read. Also the whole back and forth thing with the best friend where he’s supportive and then he’s not and then he is without really any justification was out of place.
Interesting premise but it really felt like I was just being told a story and I didn’t feel any of it even though it should have had it’s fair share of angst.

so so so good!

I wanted a quick read because I’ve been in kind of a slump the last few days and this one was PERFECT!! Carter and Avery have my heart. He’s definitely going on my top book boyfriends list. The book was so cute, the ending was PERFECT! Just *chefs kiss*
