Serenity has everything planned out for her future, until her best friend throws a wrench in those plans by dating one of her friends. So she does what she does best, makes a list. However she never expected her brother’s best friend, Archer, to find the list with his name on it, especially since the list was of people who she wanted to lose her virginity to. Archer harbors so much guilt from his girlfriend going missing that he doesn’t think he will ever be able to be with anyone else. Archer was so sweet but sometimes I wanted to scream at him. I adored this book. Both Serenity and Archer were amazing characters. I do hope Ezra gets his own book.

This is the first book I've read by this author. This is a brother’s best friend, a standalone romance novel about Archer and Serenity. This is an interconnected standalone with the Windsor Family series by the same author. From the start, it was difficult to connect with the FMC. Although I enjoyed this book the first half was tough to get through. The connection between the MMC and FMC seemed one sided. Not until the last quarter of the book did you feel the longing from both characters. The book was well written, some of the tropes in this book were:

Serenity was a little crazy. She had unrequited love with Theo. He moves on with their best friend and uses all the lists that Serenity created for them to share. Serenity really struggles with her sadness over the relationship between Kristen and Theo. But quickly, she falls hopelessly in love with Archer. For his part, Archer was really possessive of Serenity and all the sneaking around behind her brother’s back made the story feel weird.
I think the book kind of dragged, but the last quarter of the book was pretty good and saved the rating of this book. I will read other books by this author, but this one wasn’t that great. It was good and I enjoyed it, but it could’ve been better.

MMC/FMC are at an impasse. FMC in love with her best friend who moved on. MMC too guilty to move on from a missing ex. They took comfort in each other towards something more. When their past comes in between them, guilt and sacrifice causing them to let go of each other. They finally come together after putting themselves rather than others first.
The way the MMC loved her entirely was the best thing I have read. His doing little things for her smiles, her hair rituals he became a part of just for her. I LOVED everything about their relationship, and everyone's easy but heartfelt acceptance of them together.

There were some good parts (like how he encouraged her to get back into painting, their dates, and how he remembered the little things), but other than that...the plot was practically non-existent.
The FMC was a doormat that just liked to paint and felt guilty all the time. I really hated how the MMC acted from the 70% mark onwards and I don't think he truly redeemed himself in my eyes.
