Minor: Rape

Nancy Wake is a RIOT. I read most of this book with my mouth hanging open. Her adventures and shenanigans are truly mind-blowing. She has an excellent knack for humor and telling an engaging story. I imagine it must have been fascinating to speak to her in person.
Please note that this autobiography does discuss some disturbing subjects like torture and rape of POWs. It's fairly standard content levels for WWII.

If you read Code Name Helene you really don’t need to read this. Nancy’s life was amazing and she’s so cool but the autobiography is choppy and so similar to Code Name until about page 150. She was an amazing person if you’re super into non fiction and WWII give it a read but if you read Code Name you don’t need to.

Nancy Wake was one tough lady. This autobiography relates Nancy's time in France during the 1930s and 1940s. She introduces a myriad of characters who played significant roles in her life. Nancy made an important contribution to the effort of the French resistance striving to drive the German invaders out of France. Nancy faced life-threatening situations with a dogged courage, a pull no punches demeanour and with staunch integrity. Nancy calls her story interesting but it is much more than that. As an autobiography, it was great to be able to read this story in Nancy's own words.
