Ok, so this one is not a quick when it comes to professional learning books. It’s pretty dense and full of detail. HOWEVER, it is full of good information to help anyone who works with MLLs. Whether you are a school setting up a brand new ESL unit, or if your school has had ESL for years but just wants to learn how to make your program stronger, this is the book for you. My biggest takeaways: assets based approach is ESSENTIAL for ALL staff at the school, teamwork and collaboration are key, all staff are teachers of language, and building relationships with families is essential to student success.
