Thief of Time is the 26th book in the Discworld series. Although there are references to earlier books in the series, it can be read as a standalone.

Above all else, the Auditors of Time value order and predictability. And what could be more ordered than stopping time for all eternity?
Fortunately, the History Monk Lu-Tze and his apprentice Lobsang catch wind of this apocalyptic plan. Can they stop the auditors before the clock runs out and the world ends? It's a desperate race against Time...

This was a fun book. My interest was captured from the start and I was intrigued to see how things would turn out.
The story moved rapidly and tension was maintained throughout. I was really surprised when I realized it was 378 pages, because it felt very fast-paced.
There was also a good sense of unity in the plot. There were no extraneous threads, and everything that happened was building up to a single unified finale.
I also find the main characters very likeable, especially Lu-Tze, although I wouldn't say they're my absolute favourite characters ever. Relatedly, character development was not a major part of this story. Some minor characters had character development (e.g.
the Fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse, Ronnie
), but there were no major developments in the protagonists.
Nonetheless, the action scenes in the book were exciting and spiced up the plot-based narrative.

Overall, I enjoyed Thief of Time and would recommend it to Discworld readers.
