My first Jesse Stone novel. I've read all of the Spenser novels and loved them...in fact recently thinking about re-reading them. But now I've got a new bunch of Robert B. Parker to read!!! Love it when I find something new!

Another in the Jessie Stone series, Not bad, though not among his best. A it reminiscent of his Ceremony from the early 1980's. Over the last decade or so, he seems to have occasionally recycled early characters in some ways. In Stranger in Paradise, Crow appears to be a bit of a stand-in for the amoral, but likeable, Hawk. Amber, the 14-year-old runaway, appears to be a stand-in for April Kyle, both of whom were more tiresome than likeable. An easy and quick read, and a good enough sample of Parker's writing.

Excellent addition to the series. Some parts made me grin, some cringe, and the black hats, white hats and the merging of the two into grey hats....superb.

It’s a quick read because the text is conversational so there aren’t a lot of words on the page. The book kind of just ends and the plot isn’t too deep. Under anticipate how much “mystery” will come with this book and I’m sure you could finish in a day or 2 at the beach.

Another excellent Stone book. Parker tied up a couple of loose ends from earlier in the series. I wouldn’t have minded a Crow book from Parker but I’m pretty sure there isn’t one. Stone and Jenn were far less annoying as far as their relationship. Molly and Suit continue to evolve. Parker creates characters similar to Stephen King. That’s as good as it gets. Only 2 more Stone books. That’s too bad.

Even though this was written by Robert Parker himself, it was not one of my favorite Jesse Stone novels. The story was mired by way too much of Jesse's ex-wife Jenn. I'm glad that in the later books that part of Jesse's life gets somewhat resolved. That said, the plot and sub-plots were interesting and there were some surprising character developments in the book.
