Grady Hendrix has clever ideas.  This book had a few of them and a couple of tense, scary moments.

Audiobook’d. Loved the gravelly-ness of the narrator’s voice.

Think this is my favourite Grady Hendrix book so far. I like that his main characters tend to be unlikeable, believable older women.  I also really enjoyed the gore scene because my face was like 😮 while listening to it happen.

I do think the book had too many bad guy speeches in it but nitpicking really

This book is genuinely scary. I couldn't wrap my head around how a book with this basis could be a horror and I kept thinking this until the first horror scene. From then on, everything is terrifying. Can't wait to read more of his works!

Entertaining but definitely not for me. Someone into metal would probably get a lot more out of this.

this book took me a long time to finish, i just could not get myself to pick it back up once i’d stopped.
around the 60-70% mark it got a lot better, but its a fight to get there.
i’ve read some grady hendrix before, and i’d definitely say he has much better books to read.

this was my first grady hendrix book and overall i thoroughly enjoyed it! i loved the overall story and found the Troglodyte album being intertwined throughout the story very creative! i typically don't like stories that have a slower pace, which i feel this one has, but this one kept me engaged the entire time!
the overuse of "and" and "said" kinda of threw me off a bit and there were a few points where I was confused on exactly what was going on.
however, i really enjoyed the story and cannot wait to read another book by mr. hendrix
