Commander Vimes has to defuse the latest upswelling in the troll-dwarf rivalry - and a lot of it is figuring out what's going on. This is Pratchett as his peak. It's complex, funny, and spins a great adventure at the same time.

This might not be the place to start into Pratchett's work, as it's better if you already know the characters and background of Discworld.

If I rate this against the other books in the Watch series it doesn't rank particularly highly, but the fact remains that it was still better and more enjoyable than most books out there.

Almost at the end of reading all the City Watch books, one more to go.  I really enjoyed this one, love the diversity of the City Watch and all their quirks, definitely kept me in laughing out louds.
