The Expanse returns to fine form, sicne the crew of the Rocinante always works as a central theme, even when they themselves are separated. The most moralistic book of the series so far, but with regrets and redemptions abounding. For a sci-fi novel with so much action going on, this is really an amazing character study via both first and third-person narrators.

I would have been significantly more stressed out during this entire book if I hadn't watched the series already.

This was a particularly strong entry in the series.

Less time spent with Holden's POV, no egregiously, hilariously bad writing of female characters, and they brought back Bobbie and Clarissa to shake up the established group of main characters.

There was a point where this book became very hard to put down. Yes, there are still issues with the writing, but this isn't a book to read when you are looking for great literature. I'm looking forward to finding out what happens next.
