This is a good introduction to available hikes in this area. I think it's a great resource for planning a trip route, but I'd have liked some more pictures to go with trail descriptions. Still, a good resource.

Planned my entire 2-week Utah roadtrip using this book.It was perfect - hotels, restaurants, and each of the parks and all of the hiking trails, overlooks, scenic drives, etc. therein. I love the Moon series and have never been let down- my favorite travel guides!

I had the Moon Guide for Zion recommended to me, and it was an excellent overview of the recreation, loding, and eating option for the southern Utah area. I was especially pleased with amount of information regarding hiking trails in the national parks/monuments (Zion and Bryce have their own chapters, obviously, but so do Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, and Grand Staircase-Escalante) and options given for Utah state parks and nearby areas that are close by and/or have similar scenery (such as hikes off Kane Creek Scenic Drive or in Goblin Valley). I also appreciated the suggested reading section, as I now have several other books specifically of hiking trails to read that I probably would not have otherwise purchased. I plan to purchase the Moon Guides for the other western national parks, as well.
