Immigrant Voices: Twenty-four Narratives on Becoming an American (Signet Classic) by Gordon Hutner

As with any compilation kind of book, the sources used can be hit or miss. Some of them I really enjoyed, others not so much. It was a nice sort of light read as an introduction to the immigration narrative in American literature. I didn't really know it was such a big genre before reading this book, and now I have a jumping off point if I want to dig deeper into the subject. However, I don't think I would recommend it to anyone who seriously studies this sort of thing. It's just sort of an introduction for someone with a more casual interest.
