I've wanted to read this for so long and now that I finally bought the edition I've been meaning to get, I'm so happy to say I absolutely loved it. This story truly is for children and adults alike. I can see myself rereading this again and again. Can't wait to watch the adaptation now. <3

Set in the middle of the Sahara Desert, a pilot with a broken plane meets a little boy, The Little Prince.

They begin to talk about their pasts where the pilot talks about his miserable drawing hobby of boas and the prince talks about his little planet and his journey to planet Earth.

In the little prince's journey he lands on a few planets and from the people inhabiting each planet he learns something new (or teaches the reader something). This book explains what responsibility and determination actually mean in the little prince's acts toward his flower (that may be one in a million roses but it's special to him because it's his rose) where he sacrifices himself to get back to her on his planet. It also explains love and friendship in the pilot and the little prince's relationship and more importantly the little prince's relationship with the fox.

Where the fox's world was just meaningless knowing he'd get hunt by a human one day, but after the little prince tamed him their little friendship that didn't even last long changed the fox's entire life, now that he sees the golden whaetfields and he remembers the golden locks of the little prince. Which sums up that our relationships that make the world around us significant and meaningful.

Yet what made this book so special is the time the I took reading it, the morals I understood and the characters I tamed(befriended)... It's what really makes the story significant and meaningful.

وكيف لي ألا أرى النجوم بعد الآن كأجراس صغيرة مفرحة أو كجفون حزينة. مدمعة..

simple, mysterious, idiosyncratic, great children’s book

reading it for an essay. i love love love it

This book had so many metaphors and a lot of symbolism that was written beautifully.
I ended up underlining what felt like every second sentence because that’s how touched I was my the writing.
Amazing.
