I really liked that Jack and Annie had to struggle a little bit to figure out why they'd been sent on this mission. There were some fun hijinks with magic and some heartfelt lessons to learn. While my daughter might have been reluctant to read this one because ew baseball, it ended up being about more than baseball and had several really cool moments.

I was not a fan of this book at all! It was an okay book in the series but nothing really happened at all!

this one compared to the others was just not great in my opinion, even if it was a standalone book not in a series i cant say it would be great, it was ok.

This book briefly mentions racism and slavery but with little to no explanation or meaningful context. Make sure you supplement your kids’ reading with some conversations on these topics, especially (but not only) if they ask.

It does have one historical figure, Jackie Robinson, but it is also fantasy. This is a great book for 1st-2nd grade. Students can read this and get their imaginations through reading.

Overall I thought this one was fairly bland of a story, as much as I liked the story it was a bit of a slog even with it being so short.
